I’m Jason, and Burroak LTD is my carpentry business based in Essex, serving homeowners across Braintree and the surrounding areas. I specialise in bespoke carpentry and bespoke joinery, creating made-to-measure solutions that are built to last and finished with care. My work ranges from bespoke wardrobes to media walls, tailored to each home.
Burroak was established 18 years ago, but my journey into carpentry began much earlier. I started straight after leaving school, driven by a hands-on passion for working with wood and learning the trade properly. More than 40 years on, that passion is still at the heart of everything I do, from kitchen installations to detailed staircase renovations.
Over the decades, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from small bespoke pieces to complete home joinery solutions, including bespoke joinery, media walls, and fitted bespoke wardrobes in homes across Braintree. This breadth of experience allows me to offer practical advice and honest guidance, not off-the-shelf answers. Every project is different, and I take the time to understand what will work best for your space, your home, and how you live.
My work is rooted in traditional craftsmanship, close attention to detail, and pride in doing the job correctly. Whether I am completing kitchen installations or carrying out staircase renovations, good carpentry should not only look right, but function perfectly and stand the test of time.

I am a proud member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen and hold a City and Guilds Carpentry qualification, giving customers added confidence in the quality and standards of my work.

Cannot recommend Jason enough. Workmanship is absolutely fantastic, very precise. Also very considerate and cleans up exceptionally well after he has finished. Would 100% recommend Jason and will be using him again when they need arises. My job wasn’t the easiest as in was repurposing and moving a kitchen which involved a few adjustments and alterations. 5 ⭐️ from me!

Jason did an amazing job of our nursery panelling. Due to our own fault we were not clear with exactly what we wanted and Jason was amazing on the day of adjusting the plans to ensure the panelling was done exactly how we were imagining. We would 100% recommend Jason.

Jason has just finished refurbishing our staircase with oak cladding, not an easy ask as it wasn’t very straightforward. I can honestly say he did an amazing job and we are so pleased with the end result. He is a lovely guy, completely honest and trustworthy and an extremely good carpenter. We're absolutely delighted with our new kitchen, and have been really impressed with every aspect of the service given. The installation was efficient, and the team were very flexible in accommodating the separate companies involved in installing the work tops and other services.
